LEGAL / TERMS

Terms of Service

These terms set the ground rules for participating in SneakerheadDAO: a community platform for discovering, documenting, and supporting sneaker culture.

Last updated: August 25, 2026

This is a structured product draft for SneakerheadDAO and is not legal advice. Please have qualified counsel review it for the final operating entity, jurisdictions, contact details, and launch requirements.

Welcome to SneakerheadDAO. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SneakerheadDAO website, applications, features, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the Service.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be legally able to enter into these Terms in your place of residence. If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. You are responsible for providing accurate account information, keeping your login details secure, and all activity under your account. Do not create an account for another person without permission or maintain more than one account to evade a restriction.

2. Community participation and DAO activity

SneakerheadDAO enables members to discover culture, vote in community galleries, submit Spotlights, participate in missions and trails, and contribute to community decisions. Participation is voluntary. Voting, reputation, qualification, and any community decision may be subject to eligibility rules, review, anti-abuse checks, time limits, and correction or removal by the SneakerheadDAO team.

The name "DAO" describes a community coordination model. Unless we expressly state otherwise in writing, using the Service does not give you equity, ownership, governance rights in a legal entity, fiduciary rights, or an entitlement to profits or assets. Nothing on the Service is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

3. Content submissions and Spotlights

You may submit text, photographs, video, audio, links, recommendations, reviews, event details, store information, creator profiles, and other material ("User Content"), including entries submitted as Spotlights. You are responsible for your User Content and for obtaining all permissions needed to submit it.

Your ownership

As between you and SneakerheadDAO, you retain ownership of the intellectual property rights you hold in your original User Content. Submitting a Spotlight does not transfer your copyright or other ownership rights to SneakerheadDAO. You should not submit material that you do not own or have permission to use.

License to operate the Service

By submitting User Content, you grant SneakerheadDAO a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, format, adapt, translate, publish, publicly display, perform, distribute, and promote that User Content in connection with operating, improving, and marketing the Service. This includes showing a Spotlight in galleries, profiles, feeds, search, maps, emails, and social or promotional materials. The license continues for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the Service or meet legal and archival obligations, including where other members have saved, voted on, or referenced the submission.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed for this license; your submission is not knowingly false or misleading; and its use under these Terms will not infringe, violate, or misappropriate another person's rights. If your User Content includes another person's image, voice, personal information, or creative work, obtain appropriate consent or permission before submitting it.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to:

  • break the law, facilitate harm, harassment, discrimination, fraud, or abuse;
  • infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
  • submit spam, malware, deceptive links, fabricated activity, or manipulated votes;
  • scrape, reverse engineer, overload, or interfere with the Service or its security;
  • impersonate another person, organization, store, creator, or SneakerheadDAO team member;
  • game XP, rankings, rewards, or reputation through bots, duplicate accounts, or collusion; or
  • use the Service to identify, track, or target people without a lawful reason.

5. XP, Culture Score, rewards, and tokens

XP, Culture Score, badges, rankings, reputation, qualification status, and similar features are participation metrics and may be earned, adjusted, withheld, expired, or removed under the applicable rules. They have no guaranteed cash value and are not a promise of employment, compensation, profit, or future access.

Any reference to digital assets, wallets, collectibles, or blockchain features is informational unless a separate written agreement says otherwise. We do not promise that a token, reward, wallet connection, or blockchain feature will launch, remain available, have value, or be compatible with any particular network. You are responsible for your own taxes, transaction fees, wallet security, and compliance obligations.

6. Moderation and enforcement

We may review, label, limit, remove, or decline User Content and may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, applicable law, or community safety standards. We may also take action to address suspected fraud, security threats, or manipulated activity. We are not required to monitor every submission and do not guarantee that content is accurate, safe, or available.

7. Third-party services and links

The Service may link to third-party websites, stores, events, wallets, social networks, or services. Third parties control their own content, terms, privacy practices, fees, and availability. SneakerheadDAO is not responsible for third-party services or for transactions you choose to make with them.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service and all content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, accuracy, security, availability, or particular results. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SneakerheadDAO and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, reputation, or digital-asset value arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

9. Changes and termination

We may update the Service or these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version and change the "Last updated" date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms, unless applicable law requires a different form of consent. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including content licenses, disclaimers, and dispute provisions, will survive.

10. Contact

Questions about these Terms should be sent to the SneakerheadDAO team using the support or contact details made available in the Service. These Terms are a product draft and should be completed by counsel with the final legal entity, governing law, venue, and dispute-resolution terms before launch.
