Privacy Policy

This draft explains what information SneakerheadDAO collects, why we use it, how we protect it, and the choices available to members and visitors.

Last updated: August 25, 2026

This is a structured product draft for SneakerheadDAO and is not legal advice. Please have qualified counsel review it for the final operating entity, jurisdictions, contact details, and launch requirements.

This Privacy Policy describes how SneakerheadDAO ("SneakerheadDAO," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, applications, and related services (the "Service"). It should be read with our Terms of Service.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account information: your name or display name, email address, authentication-provider identifier, profile image, username, and account preferences.
  • Culture profile information: your Sneaker DNA, collector interests, era, origin story, city-level home scene, and other profile details you choose to add.
  • Activity and contributions: votes, saves, follows, referrals, mission activity, XP, Culture Score, rewards history, feedback, applications, and submitted Spotlights or other User Content.
  • Optional information: wallet addresses, social handles, portfolio links, event or store details, and media you choose to connect or upload.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and technical data: browser and device type, operating system, language, approximate location inferred from network information, IP address, and security or diagnostic logs.
  • Usage data: pages and features viewed, referring pages, timestamps, interaction events, and performance information.
  • Location data: precise device location only when you actively grant browser permission for a location feature. We do not require precise location to use the Service, and you can revoke permission in your device or browser settings.

We may receive information from authentication, hosting, analytics, storage, security, and other service providers that help us operate the Service. We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information unless you choose to provide it; please do not submit health, financial, government-ID, or other sensitive information in a public profile or Spotlight.

2. How we use information

We use information as needed to:

  • create, authenticate, secure, and maintain your account;
  • provide profiles, voting, galleries, discovery, missions, trails, and rewards;
  • publish and attribute the User Content you choose to submit;
  • calculate XP, Culture Score, reputation, qualifications, and anti-abuse signals;
  • respond to requests, provide support, and communicate service changes;
  • understand usage, improve performance, and develop new community features;
  • prevent fraud, manipulation, abuse, and security incidents; and
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we generally process information to perform our contract with you (for example, operating your account), with your consent (for example, optional location access or non-essential communications), for our legitimate interests (for example, security, service improvement, and community integrity), or to comply with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time, although this does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.

4. How we share information

We may share information with:

  • Service providers that host, authenticate, store, secure, analyze, or support the Service under contractual restrictions.
  • Other members and the public when you choose a public profile or submit content to a public gallery. Public contributions may include your chosen display name, attribution, city-level information, and activity visible in the relevant feature.
  • Legal and safety recipients when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect rights or safety, or investigate abuse.
  • Business transaction recipients in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not share precise device location publicly. We may use aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you for analytics, safety, or product improvement.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar storage technologies to make the Service work. These may include:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: authentication/session security, routing, load balancing, fraud prevention, and remembering essential choices.
  • Preference cookies: remembering settings such as interface or onboarding preferences when those features are enabled.
  • Analytics or optional technologies: only where enabled, disclosed, and permitted by applicable law, with consent where required.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent sign-in or other parts of the Service from working. We do not use cookies to infer or publish your precise location.

6. Retention and security

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain legitimate business and safety records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with law. Retention periods vary by the type and sensitivity of information. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your account and wallet credentials private and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized activity.

7. Your privacy choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; and complain to a data-protection authority. You can update information available in your profile settings and may request additional help through the support or contact details made available in the Service. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request and may retain information where the law allows or requires it.

Additional information for people in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may exercise the rights above without discrimination. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests and request human review of certain automated decisions where applicable. You can lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Final launch materials should identify the responsible controller, representative where required, and privacy-request contact.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children who cannot legally agree to these Terms. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

9. International processing

SneakerheadDAO and our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers and provide additional information or protections required by applicable law.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this Policy as the Service or legal requirements change. We will post the updated version and revise the "Last updated" date. For privacy questions or requests, use the support or contact details made available in the Service. Before launch, qualified counsel should confirm the final controller identity, jurisdictions, vendors, retention schedule, cookie consent implementation, and request process.
